Our annual Holiday Wreath-Making Class brought dozens of Habitat homeowners to learn from members of the Rochester Garden Club, in what is perhaps our most popular event each year, and a terrific way to kick off the holiday season.

Cornerstone Marks Donor's Generosity

Lucretia Scott's Habitat house at 44 Grape Street might never have been built without a generous $75,000 donation from Jean Groff. Jean has supported Habitat for 15 years, both financially and as a volunteer.

Leaders Build 2008

Each year, more than 100 business leaders trade a busy work day for a chance to experience the joy of helping to build a decent new home in partnership with a deserving low-income family. This year, company presidents, CEOs and business owners rolled up their sleeves to lay foundation block and frame a home at 39 Grape Street.

ReStore Celebrates with Grand Re-Opening

Bigger, brighter, and better... that's the new Habitat ReStore at 755 Culver Road, which celebrated with a Grand Re-Opening today. The store sells new and gently-used home-improvement products, converting a stream of materials that would otherwise have clogged our landfills into a stream of revenue to support Habitat's building program.

Bike & Build Visits Habitat Sites in Rochester
July 2, 2008
Bike & Build is a non-profit group that organizes cross-country bicycle trips which benefit affordable housing groups, including Habitat for Humanity. 30 college students spent a day in Rochester working for FCHH, building and grading in the JOSANA neighborhood and working in the ReStore.

Habitat for Humanity Plans Unique Build

Habitat construction crews and engineers are planning to build their first LEED-certified house in Rochester. "We build seven to eight houses a year, and for the sake of homeowners and for the sake of our planet, we really need to be building more green," said Bill Bartlett, Construction Manager for Habitat.
