Our ROC House project has given a number of businesses and their employees a way to enjoy a sense of ownership in the Habitat homebuilding process. That process came to a climax today with the dedication of a new home for Beverly Jones at 349 Orange Street, in the JOSANA neighborhood.

Youth Immersion Program Provides Experience, Inspiration

A group of high school seniors built a unique understanding of poverty housing and related issues in our community during a week-long immersion experience hosted by Flower City Habitat. They learned about the challenge of finding affordable housing in Rochester, and they learned about things that each of us can do to make a difference.

9th Annual Leaders Build Defies Rain

Almost 100 business leaders traded a busy work day for a chance to experience the joy of helping to build a decent new home in partnership with a deserving low-income family. This year, company presidents, CEOs and business owners rolled up their sleeves to pour a foundation on one site, frame a home on another, and paint others still.

Young Professionals' Event Funds Habitat Projects

With a standing-room-only crowd at the South Wedge Colony Bar and Grille, our YP's and their fabulous guest bartenders had a ball while they raised over $5,000 to help fund Habigtat's building projects in the JOSANA neighborhood.

Habitat Office Finds New Home at ReStore

January 5, 2009
After 10 years in the Rochester Public Market, we found ourselves at the end of our lease and with a heating system that gave up the ghost in mid-November. Fortunately, we had a warm place to go.
